I have posted enough about Constance lately so here is a little update on ME (with pictures of her ;).
I am employed. That's right, I got a job! I start on Wednesday (the 11th). I can't tell you how excited, shocked, nervous, blessed, and just very fortunate to have been given this opportunity! I took this phlebotomy class just to give myself a little advantage over possibly some of the other students applying for the radiology program. Thinking maybe a little medical experience or certification would be better than none. Honestly, I had NO hopes of getting a job because of it.
Turns out the teacher works for LabCorp (where I will be working), he pulled me aside and asked me to apply. I did, not thinking I would hear from them until at least after I graduated from class. Well, they called me the next morning and had me interview the next day! After talking with the HR lady she said they haven't hired a student fresh out (or still in!) school in over 4 years!
After talking with some of the students at our last class a lot of them are having a really hard time finding a place to do their extern ship (40 hours). They said most places in the valley are overwhelmed with students right now and they just can't fit them in. How crazy is that? Not only do I have a job, but I will get PAID to do my extern ship!
I went and bought all my scrubs, talk about expensive, and am ready to jump in with both feet. Wish me luck on this new adventure!
I also am going to apply for the Radiology program next month through Weber State. Hopefully I will get in and can start that next fall. School has been actually really fun now that I am studying things that really get me going. I am totally LOVING my psychology class. Especially now I have a kid! It has really opened my mind to try some other parenting techniques I would otherwise not have thought of.
I think I have most of my Christmas shopping done for the babe. (I will give you a list so you don't buy the same things Mom ;) It has been really fun actually! I am getting super excited.
Toys for her 1st Christmas:
Musical Sit and Spin
Farm Animal Barn-that makes the noises
Books-tons of books
Vacuum-it is pretend but hopefully allows me to vacuum the house in peace
Sled-she can sit in it and I can strap her in
Blocks of Wood-she loves stacking so I am going to find some in the wood pile and paint them for her
Wait, I was going to make this a me post but guess I ruined that. Sorry.
